Per capita greenhouse gas emissions in Spain 1990-2022

Spain's per capita greenhouse gas emissions saw an upward trend from 1990 to 2005. That year, emissions in the Mediterranean country peaked at almost nine metric tons of CO₂ equivalent per capita. Since then, figures have presented an overall decline, dropping to about 5.17 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent per capita in 2022. That same year, Spain's total greenhouse gas emissions stood at around 246 million metric tons of CO₂ equivalent.
