PM2.5 and PM10 emissions in Spain 1990-2019
Emissions of particulate matter, both PM2.5 and PM10, in Spain have been on a mostly downward trend since 1990. In 2019, PM10 emissions stood at 195 thousand metric tons, while PM2.5 emissions amounted to 135 thousand metric tons. Pollution related to PM2.5 has been consistently lower when compared to PM10 throughout the whole period. Emissions of particulate matter in the European country reached a record low in 2014, with PM2.5 and PM10 emissions reaching 120 and 175 thousand metric tons, respectively.
