Willingness to reduce hot water consumption to save energy in Germany 2022
As of July 2022, the majority of the German population was willing to reduce hot water consumption due to the energy shortage. However, about a third of respondents stated that they were not prepared to use less hot water. Due to the war in Ukraine and the attempt to reduce Russian energy imports, energy prices in Germany have been rising for months. At the same time, there are uncertainties as to whether Russia will fulfill the contractually guaranteed gas deliveries via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
