Average length of stay for cancer inpatients in public hospitals in China 2021
In 2021, cancer inpatients treated in public hospitals in China stayed, on average, more than 11 day in the wards. Patients receiving treatments in urban hospitals tend to stay longer than inpatients in county-level hospitals. The type of cancer was a major determining factor for the length of stays. While brain tumour patients spent, on average, more than two weeks in hospitals, the average length of stays for patients with cancers of the male reproductive system was around 10 days.
