At the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, nearly three out of five people in France considered the current functioning of the education system to be poor. They were 35 percent to make the same observation for elementary school, and 23 percent for preschools.
Among the measures that could be taken to improve the situation, the French considered that improving the training and evaluation of teachers and expanding their recruitment were priorities.
