Istanbul: number of bus passengers 2013-2021
In 2021, the number of bus passengers in Istanbul, the most populous city in Turkey and Europe, amounted to 904 million people. This represents an increase of almost 13 percent compared to the previous year when the numbers were the lowest due to nationwide lockdowns and stay-at-home requirements caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Passenger volume fluctuated throughout the given period and peaked at approximately 1.4 billion passengers in 2019.
