The confidence of Americans in the ability of Democrats and Republicans to work together in Congress has taken a hit between 2008 and 2022. A survey conducted in 2022 found that only nine percent of respondents had a lot of confidence the two parties could work together in a bipartisan way. This is down from 23 percent of respondents to a survey in 2008.
