Prevalence of obese and overweight children in Italy 2019, by gender

In 2019, according to the World Health Organization definition, almost 20 percent of boys aged 8 and 9 years in Italy were obese, compared to 13 percent of girls. Conversely, the prevalence of overweight children was similar between the two genders, with 20.8 percent for boys and 22.4 percent for girls.
