Bank assets as share of GDP in Latin America 2021, by country
The total value of assets of the banking sector in Brazil was equivalent to 125.8 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021, making Brazil the only country in Latin America with bank assets exceeding the GDP of the whole country. Brazil was followed by Bahamas and Chile, both with bank assets exceeding 90 percent of the GDP.
