Strong password authentication and data backup to a separate location constituted the two most widely used ICT security measures by Belgian companies in 2022. Encryption techniques for data, documents, or e-mails were used by more than a fourth of businesses employing 10 to 49 employees, and by approximately 69 percent of companies with 250 or more staff. Overall, over 95 percent of enterprises employing more than 10 people in Belgium used at least one ICT security measure.
