Monthly development Euro Stoxx 50 Index 2015-2024
The Euro Stoxx 50 index, comprised of the 50 blue-chip companies from eight eurozone countries, lost around one third of its value between February and March, 2020, owing to the economic impact of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It has since recovered, surpassing its pre-corona level. As of the end of February 2024, the index stood at 4,877.77 points.
The Euro Stoxx 50 index is considered the most important pan-European stock index, capturing 50 of the eurozone's largest companies across a wide range of sectors. Over two thirds of the assets included in the index are either French or German.
