The Data Center market comprises all hardware-related expenses used for setting up and maintaining an IT infrastructure. It covers the three subsections servers, storage, as well as network infrastructure such as routers and switches. Nowadays each company usually has its own IT infrastructure. There are, however, also external providers making their IT infrastructure available completely or partially by leasing out capacity in data centers.

Market values represent revenues paid to primary vendors at manufacturer price level either directly or through distribution channels (excluding VAT). Reported market revenues include spending by enterprises (B2B) as well as governments (B2G). Revenues are allocated to the country where the money is spent.
