Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria mainly causing infections of the skin, soft tissue and bone, as well as bloodstream. As of 2021, almost 16 percent of S. aureus in EU and EEA countries was resistant to methicillin. This statistic displays the percentage of invasive Staphylococcus aureus isolates resistant to methicillin (MRSA) in EU/EEA countries between 2017 and 2021.
