Enterococcus faecalis is a bacteria present in the microbiota of the human gastrointestinal tract that in some cases can cause urinary tract infections, endocarditis, sepsis, and meningitis. As of 2021, roughly 29 percent of E. faecalis in EU and EEA countries was resistant to high-level gentamicin. This statistic displays the percentage of invasive Enterococcus faecalis isolates resistant to high-level gentamicin in EU/EEA countries between 2017 and 2021.
