Since 2008, Madrid's crude birth rate has been declining. In 2022, the birth rate decreased by 0.13 live births per 100,000 inhabitants in relation to the previous year and was the lowest value of the observed period. Compared to the national data, 2021 was the first year in the period analyzed in which the Community of Madrid had a lower crude birth rate than the national rate.
