French opinion on the use of firearms by the police in July 2023

According to a survey conducted in July 2023, a few days after the fatal shooting of Nahel Merzouk by a police officer and after the riots which mostly happened in suburban areas of Paris, 31 percent of respondents believed the use of firearms by the French police should be tightened. But on the other hand, there were 22 percent of those surveyed who thought it should be loosened.
