Share of sources of financing for psychotropic medicines in Africa 2020
According to a survey in 2020, the majority of individuals in Africa either paid nothing to obtain psychotropic medicines from being fully insured, or paid at most 20 percent of the cost. This referred to nearly 60 percent of the 39 African country respondents. The rest of the share catered for the medication from their own pockets. Psychotropic medicines are used in treating mental disorders.
