The source notes the following: "The indicator measures the percentage of schools by level of education with access to the given facility or service. The full scope of the indicator is the proportion of schools with access to: (a) electricity; (b) the Internet for pedagogical purposes; (c) computers for pedagogical purposes; (d) adapted infrastructure and materials for students with disabilities; (e) basic drinking water; (f) single-sex basic sanitation facilities; and (g) basic handwashing facilities."

Schools with an improved drinking water source with water available at the time of the questionnaire or survey are classified as having a ‘basic’ service.
