Share of young people having sex before 17 years in Italy in 2019 and 2023
A survey on sexuality of young people aged between 11 and 24 years in Italy, showed that the age at which people are having sex for the first time has increased. As a matter of fact, in 2019 about 64 percent of respondents said they had sexual intercourse for the fist time before the age of 17, while this share decreased to 40.4 percent in 2023. This statistic displays the share of young people who had sex for the first time before 17 years of age in Italy in 2019 and 2023.
