According to a survey in 2024, roughly a third of nurses in Canada were dissatisfied with their career choice. That leaves two-thirds of Canadian nurses somewhat or very satisfied with their career choice.

Supplementary notes

Nurses from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland were randomly selected to participate in this research by direct e-mail invitation.

Nurses from Quebec and the Territories were encouraged to participate in this research by their local organizations and via CFNU social media posts.

The survey consisted of 107 questions, and the average time to complete the survey was 16 minutes.
