Number of partial mastectomies in South Korea 2012-2021
In 2021, around 162 partial mastectomies were performed in South Korea per 100,000 women. This is a surgical procedure to remove cancer or other abnormal tissue from the breast or the area around it, while not removing the entire breast itself. This is commonly performed as a treatment for breast cancer, which is one of the leading types of cancer among women in South Korea.
