U.S. adults intention of generative AI usage 2023, by type

According to an August 2023 survey, text to text were the most appealing type of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools or adults in the United States, with 68 percent respondents willing to use such tools in the next 12 months. Text to image tools ranked second, being mentioned by around 47 percent of respondents, while text to audio or video were mentioned by around 35 and 33 percent of respondents each. Meanwhile, around 13 million adults in the United States claimed to have used generative artificial intelligence (AI) as their primary tool for online search in 2023.
