The commercial sector in the U.S. generated some 2.05 gigawatt-hours of electricity from biomass waste in 2022. Between 2006 and 2014, figures presented a trend of growth, peaking at 2.7 gigawatt-hours in 2014. From 2014 onwards, waste electricity generation decreased by around 600 gigawatt-hours.
