Georgia was the largest consumer of wood and biomass waste in the United States in 2020, with a consumption of 208.2 trillion British thermal units. Alabama and California ranked second and third, with a consumption of 160 and 148 trillion British thermal units. By comparison, Michigan ranked tenth that year, with a consumption of wood and biomass waste amounting to around 99 trillion British thermal units.
