Number of home resales in Canada 2018-2021, with a forecast until 2023, by province
A total of 667,000 home resales took place in Canada in 2021, and until 2023, this figure is set to decrease by more than 200,000. Among the different provinces, Ontario, British Columbia, and Quebec were the most active markets for existing housing. In Ontario alone, the number of home resales totaled almost 271,000 in 2021. Nevertheless, British Columbia was the province with the highest average resale house price.
