In 2022, Asia and Oceania was the world region with the highest number of conflicts, registering 53 violent crises and one full-scale war. On the other hand, the lowest number of conflicts were recorded in Europe, with 17 non-violent and 15 violent conflicts. The classifications "high intensity", "medium intensity" and "low intensity" are defined as follows by the source:
Low intensity conflicts are non-violent crises or disputes, medium intensity conflicts are violent crises and high intensity conflicts are limited wars and wars in general.
