This statistic shows the unemployment figures in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2000 to 2018, by gender. During this time period there were consistently fewer women than men unemployed, with the largest gap recorded in 2009 when there were over a half a million more unemployed men then women. In more recent years that gap, between unemployed men and women, has narrowed to just over 100 thousand as of 2018.
