Unemployment across the whole of the European Union rose in 2020, in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns enforced by national governments. Among European countries, Greece is currently suffering the worst unemployment rate at 16.5 percent, followed by Spain at 16.1 percent while Czechia has the lowest unemployment rate at 3.1 percent.
