Gallbladder cancer cases rate per 100,000 population in England 1995-2017, by gender This statistic shows the rate of registrations of newly diagnosed cases of gallbladder cancer per 100,000 population in England from 1995 to 2017, by gender. The gallbladder is a small organ located in the abdomen under the liver. Cancer of the gallbladder occurs when cells within the gallbladder begin to grow abnormally. In 2017, 1.2 males and 2.2 females per 100,000 population were registered as newly diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. While the rate of females registered as newly diagnosed with gallbladder cancer decreased slightly from 2.3 in 2016, the rate of males registered as new cases remained the same.
