LA collected regular household waste in England 2000-2019

The amount of regular household waste collected by local authorities in England declined between 2000/01 and 2018/19. Figures fell to a low of 10.26 million tons in the latter year. This development is likely influenced by increasing rates of household recycling. In 2018/19, 43.5 percent of total household waste was recycled.
