
Revenue of pharmaceutical markets in Central and Eastern Europe 2021
Still far behind the Western European powerhouses
Germany’s pharmaceutical market had a turnover of over 49.4 billion euros in 2021, the largest in Europe for that year. France and Italy had revenues of 37 billion and 32.4 billion euros respectively. Poland’s revenue was still enough to place it as fifth highest of the European Union.
Polish pharmaceutical trade
The value of Polish pharmaceutical exports has significantly increased in recent years. In 2008, the export value of pharmaceutical products stood at approximately 1.1 billion euros. In 2021, it came to some 2.9 billion euros. In the same year, the value of pharmaceutical products imported into Poland was worth approximately seven billion euros.
