Road fatalities per 1,000,000 inhabitants by country 2020
In 2020, around 121 people per 1,000,000 inhabitants died as a result of road accidents in Georgia. The country has left-hand traffic, but imports a large amount of right-hand drive vehicles. Georgia also seems to lack effective restraint laws for rear passengers.
The rate of road fatalities remained high in the United States, although traffic-related fatalities were slightly down in 2019, compared with the year before. Distracted driving appears to minimize the benefits of increased restraint use and enhanced safety assistance systems for motor vehicles.
