This statistic illustrates the types of financial products purchased by adults in Northern Ireland within 12 months prior to October 2015 as a share of the total sample. It showed that the most commonly purchased financial product was motor insurance, followed by travel insurance and home buildings/ contents insurance. Unlike many other regions of the United Kingdom during this time period, travel insurance was purchased by more respondents than home buildings or contents insurance.
