Share of global cartonboard production 2021, by region
Asia accounted for nearly 51 percent of the global production of cartonboard in 2021. The second-largest cartonboard-producing region was Europe, which accounted for just over a quarter of production. Cartonboard, often referred to as folding boxboard, is a packaging material for products such as food and electronics. The global demand for cartonboard reached 52 million metric tons in 2021.
