Italy: EBT of paper packaging companies 2021

The earning before taxes (EBT) of enterprises active in the paper and cardboard packaging sector in Italy peaked at 136 million euros in 2020. This figure decreased by almost 50 percent between 2020 and 2021, when it amounted to 92 million euros. In 2021, the leading Italian paper packaging company was Smurfit Kappa S.p.A., with a revenue of almost 740 million euros.

* Companies with significant (statutory) turnover, a degree of specialization in the sector greater than or equal to 50 percent of the total turnover, and active in all the financial years considered have been taken into account for the calculation. The calculation also takes into account the balance of power between companies. For example, companies with a too high turnover were discarded, so that their balance sheet structure does not excessively influence the average sector indicators.
