Italy: industrial PPI of paper products 2023

The industrial producer price index (PPI) of paper and paper products manufactured in Italy was approximately 130.5 in August 2023. This value hit a record high in October 2022, when it reached 143.7. It was still around 40 points above pre-pandemic levels in 2023. The reason for the rise in paper prices is a paper shortage due to supply chains difficulties after the COVID pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
