Average prices for used cars in Germany from 2001 to 2021

The average price of used passenger cars in Germany has experienced significant increases since 2018. Particularly freely traded cars have seen a steep increases in price, with the average cost of used car rising from just under 8,000 euros in 2018 to about 14,500 euros in 2021. Average prices of used cars sold through trademark trading have been historically higher than freely traded used cars, but have also experienced an upward trend, reaching an average price of 21,250 euros in 2021. The average price for a used car across all markets stood at 15,740 euros in 2021.
