Global aircraft fleet - passenger jet retirements 2005-2017

The statistic shows the number of passenger jets that were removed from the global aircraft fleet from 2005 to 2017. In 2017, some 483 passenger jets were removed from the fleet. As a result of rising fuel prices between 2010 and 2014, many fuel-inefficient airplanes were replaced by newer models.
