In 2022, pig stock in Indonesia amounted to approximately 7.28 million heads. Although more than 80 percent of the Indonesian population are Muslims, pigs are considered important livestock, especially in the eastern part of Indonesia such as Nusa Tenggara, Bali, South Sulawesi, and Papua provinces.
