Coal production value India FY 2012-2017

Coal production value amounted to around 816 billion Indian rupees across India in fiscal year 2017. Coal dominated the country's power supply with a contribution of over 70 percent through thermal power plants. According to the Central Electricity Authority of India however, about 50 percent of the country's power supply will be generated by renewable energy sources by the year 2030.
