Share of children enrolled in schools in rural India 2022, by type
As per the results of a survey conducted in 2022 about the share of children enrolled in schools across rural in India, around 35.3 percent of five year-old children were enrolled in Anganwadis. These are rural day-care centers run by the government that ensure basic care including food is provided to children. Anganwadi literally means courtyard shelter in Hindi.
