Fifth graders' reading ability in rural Karnataka public schools 2008-2018

According to the survey results in 2018, 47.6 percent of fifth graders in rural government schools in Karnataka could read second grade text. This was a slight increase compared to 2016 when 41.9 percent children could read second grade text.
