Italy: perceived safest places to put savings 2016 This statistic represents Italians' perceptions regarding the safest places to store their savings in 2016. According to this survey, one in four Italians thought that the safest way to preserve their savings was to invest them in bricks and mortar. In comparison, one in five respondents believed that banks were the most reliable institutions to deposit their money in. Ten percent of respondents thought it safest to keep their savings at home.
