Latin America: share of smartphone users who make proximity mobile payment 2018-2023
In 2018, 10.2 percent of smartphone owners in Latin America have made a proximity mobile payment. It has been forecast that, by 2023, more than 17 percent of smartphone users in the region would conduct payments using their mobile devices. Furthermore, it has been estimated that there were over 33 million proximity mobile payment users in Latin America in 2020.
