Market share of diesel-electric hybrid cars in Italy 2010-2021
Diesel-electric hybrid cars played a minor role in the Italian car market. In the period from 2012 to 2017, their market share decreased year-on-year, passing from 0.09 percent to 0.01 percent, only to increase substantially between 2017 and 2019. By 2021, diesel-electric cars accounted for four percent of the total number of car registrations in the country – the highest market share ever recorded for these cars.
