This statistic shows the outcome of a survey done on the friendships between Dutch nationals and refugees in 2017. When asked how many Dutch friends they have, roughly 50 percent of the refugee respondents indicated that they have a couple of Dutch friends.
* Nine out of ten respondents were Syrians, the rest of the respondents came from Iraq. The biggest group of respondents has indicated a university degree or no degree. The majority (93%) is male and eight out of ten are under 40. The results have been weighed on age and gender based on CBS figures of people who applied for a first asylum.
