This statistic shows the area of fresh vegetables harvested in France from 2013 to 2019. In 2013, almost 190 thousand hectares of fresh vegetable, which also included melons and watermelons were harvested in France, this area grew to almost reach 260 thousand hectares in 2019.

"This indicator uses the concepts of area harvested . Harvested area refers to the total area seeded for the production of a particular crop in the same year, excluding the area not harvested.
If 1 hectare is sown and harvested four times in the same year and if all the seeded area is harvested except the last one, 80% of the field is harvested, then the area harvested will be 3.8 hectares (4 hectares minus 0.2 hectares of un-harvested area)."
