Catalan self-determination referendum: results 2017

This statistic shows the preliminary results of the Catalan self-determination referendum on October 1st, 2017, with a 95 percent of the votes counted. According to voting figures provided by the Catalan government, approximately 90 percent of the votes casted were in favor of the independence. Nearly eight percent of voters rejected the independence and the rest of the ballots were blank or void. 2.26 million people took part in the referendum of a total voter pool of approximately 5.34 million, which represents a turnout of 42 percent. The abstention rate was 58 percent.
