
Deaths due to Alzheimer's in Spain 2005-2021, by gender
In 2021, approximately 13 thousand people died from Alzheimer´s disease in Spain, down from around 15.5 thousand casualties reported a year prior. Deaths from Alzheimer's were more prevalent among women than men throughout the analyzed period. As of 2021, this neurodegenerative disease caused the deaths of around 9.2 thousand women and about 3.8 thousand men in the European country.
