Victims of domestic abuse in the United Kingdom in 2016
This statistic displays the estimated number of individuals who experienced domestic violence, in the previous year in the United Kingdom in 2016, by gender. Women experienced almost twice as much domestic abuse as men in the previous 12 months, including partner or family non-physical abuse, threats, force, sexual assault or stalking. There were an estimated 1.3 million incidences of domestic abuse against women in the previous year, whilst there were an estimated 716 thousand incidences against men in the previous year.
